A Rocking Good Time
Frolicon was big fun this year. I was able to include some of my rituals in my workshops and it was truly transcendental. And that isn't a word I use often.
SouthEast LeatherFest was more fun that I could possibly explain. As a SELF Producer I can say the weekend was laid back. It was relaxing, fun, and hilarious. I had so much fun at Carnalval on Friday night. I think I ran the whole time in heels! This is an aerobics I could so get into. The booths were fun and totally innovative. There was a lot more but I'm telling you-- don't miss it next year. :) Even if it wasn't my event, I'd go just to play the fun fun fun games!
Black Rose's 20th Anniversary
I have waited all year to celebrate Black Rose's 20th Anniversary. I feel that BR has made a tremendous contribution to various types of SM communities. I recall clearly when BR was the largest educational event the country had ever seen. As far as I am concerned it is one of the events that is de riguer.
Every year when I attend, I come home renewed, recharged, and truly pleased to be a part of BR. This year will be no different. They have outdone themselves in every way.
They also asked for something very unusual from me. They asked me to give a class on me. It was a deep compliment and very different for me. The focus of my classes is on those who attend. My focus is generally to provide information and exploration of the topic being presented. It took some long conversations to convince me that a class on my life would provide anything useful to attendees. I'm giving the class this morning-- I'll let you know. More to come on BR. |

November: On the Road |

In November I traveled to Raleigh, NC, Atlanta, GA and Seattle, WA. In NC and WA, I gave Servant's Retreat. For a seminar that I have been giving for five years I can't believe it hasn't grown stale for me. I still walk away so energized and full of hope. I see so much willingness to explore the difficult concepts and courageous self examination. My respect for those folks who serve only grows deeper.
In NC, I left with a renewed sense that we each truly do choose the life we lead. In Seattle, I left knowing that asking the questions is more important than knowing the answer. |
